I hate to start another thread, and maybe I should not. But I don't like "leeching" from others' threads and this will likely be a short thread if the weather does not improve. May has been a bummer here locally with lots of rain, cold temperatures and wind. We've had some thunderstorms with hail too. I've had to wait between storms to get a few pictures, and then the lighting in some cases was not good enough for sharp details. So there is very little that can go into the data base. Yesterday (5/24 & 5/23 too) were possibly my best days where I could get some half decent pictures but there just was not enough natural lighting. I do not like to see the iris season gone without a few pictures. Anyway that's my story.

This is a gorgeous iris & the lighting is very poor so not a good picture.

Love the irises even if some look a little worse for wear - the garden shots are great!

Leon, I like that you have a separate thread--this former Hoosierite sometimes misses all that green. Plus, you always have interesting things to see.

Is the blue and white-ish Iris in the lower right corner of the garden shot Stairway to Heaven?

That is a beautiful clump of Different World. Wow.

I have garden envy with all your clumps in Garden #2.

Yep that's Stairway To Heaven. It is one of the nicest (and fastest) growing irises on the place. I started that garden two years ago with just 3 or 4 rhizomes of each plant and most of them have exploded into huge clumps. Ringo just left of it does the same thing. I couldn't get a decent picture close up of STH because of low lighting. Today is all wind so no pictures! This is the best I could do.


(P. S. as a former Hoosierite I would bet you don't miss our weather! )

Leon, I have STH, also, and it is as vigorous for me--I like it when I can now recognize some Irises as soon as I see them, even in photographs.

Um, yeah...the weather there...think it is safe to say...I will take a Texas stinkin' hot summer over an Indiana winter any day...ANY day.

Lovely irises, Leon, and I love the garden shots. I like individual threads so when I think to myself "hmmm I think Leon posted a photo of a Bundle of Love.... but where......". I will first check your thread and most of the time I will find what I am looking for.

Thank you Bonnie. This year I did something different. I started putting pictures of irises for 2017 in my blog. So if you ever need to check on something I'm working on putting them over there. I can send you a rhizome or two of Bundle O L should you have room. (or want it) (Hope that didn't sound pushy. )

This is another TB I've wanted to get a photo of, but there hasn't been enough light or too much wind. I didn't even try today. The best I could do is from 5/23 in low light overcast. Shepherd's Delight from England. I've had it for years. Storms really beat it up yesterday, so I'm lucky.
