I planted some seeds in an herb garden an I'm not sure if this is supposed to be growing or not. Could you help me identify it? It has a purple stem

Hi Airn22, Welcome!

I'm not sure what that pretty plant might be; do you recall what seeds you planted? I wonder if it could be a variety of Rumex? We have a few listed in our database with photos for comparison: https://garden.org/plants/sear...

Meanwhile, I've suggested this thread be moved to the Plant Identification forum where I'm sure someone might recognize it and be able to offer an exact ID.

It would help to know which seeds you planted. Thank you. Thank You!

From your photo I am thinking it could be an eggplant, or a kale, or a rumex...but time will tell. Whatever it is, it looks healthy and I would let it grow for a while. Thumbs up

That's definitely a Brassica (I'm guessing cabbage).
