Please help ID plant in attached photo. It volunteered in the garden area a few years ago.

Maybe a variety of Ivy (Hedera) ?

English Ivy (Hedera helix) has become invasive in some parts of the country.

Welcome!

Is this a sapling tree? If so it has opposite leaves and lobed leaves so could be a maple of some kind. It would help to know roughly where you are to narrow down the possibilities (Oregon?). Also a close-up of the leaf edges to show any teeth, and a picture of the whole plant if possible.

Apparently there are quite a few Maples (Acer sp.) that are native to or have naturalized in Oregon so it could be a juvenile/sapling Maple!

Empress Tree (Paulownia tomentosa) is also found in Oregon.

Sure looks like Paulownia! When I lived in Connecticut it was a wonderful plant. I loved my Paulownia tree. But here in Savannah it is horribly invasive. It is very hard to kill and will travel underground and under a concrete patio and come up in very unexpected places. Beautiful tree...in the right location and climate. Thumbs up

Thanks. Paulownia it is! We cut back a few limbs last fall, saving them for future use, and they had brand new leaves on them this spring! Amazing!

I loved the Paulowia when I lived in the northeast...but here in the southeast, not so much. I let my dog Jack
tear one out of the ground.

Well, golly gee. I tried to upload a video and could not. Fortunately, my daughter was nearby and explained that I could upload the video to YouTube and...here it is. (And yes, I know I misspelled the name of the tree *Blush* )
