I've looked at so many online pics and still can't tell what's what 😟 I put down St Augustine sod and it has been spreading out.....but I have something dying. So...I've been digging. Lots of dead roots and/or stolons. Some laying on top of the ground and lots of dead stuff underground. I'm pulling it all out along with some live stuff....which leads to my question. Am I pulling up the St Augustine I planted? 😶

They should call it "vine" instead of grass.
