Does anyone know if I should garden in my old hay bales that have been around for like two years. The rain has molded them, rats, mice and spiders have lived in them. Can I ignore that and just go ahead and plant in them? Any thoughts on the matter , anyone?

You should really use straw bales. Hay has weed seeds in it. It would also seem that a mouse infestation might eat your veggies before you get the chance!
