Plant ID forum: What is this plant?

This plant is growing outside my house. It looks like some sort of clover, but I can't be sure. any ideas?

Now, this is a really dumb, and probably simple question but, if this plant is native to Europe, could it still grow in the Easter US? I didn't plant it there, and there's tons of them around my property.

I just read this in our database:
Aquilegia vulgaris is a larval host plant for the Columbine Duskywing Skipper Butterfly. You might keep an eye on it, just for fun.
