It kind of looks like a scented geranium. What do leaves smell like.
Anything i say, could be misrepresented, or wrong.

If its 5 feet tall, its not a geranium. Maybe something in the Malvaceae family like a hollyhock or mallow?

It could be a plume poppy (Macleaya). Plume poppy looks impressive, but spreads aggressively and takes up a lot of space.
