Turns out there was no queen. Healthy bees but the nuc showed no eggs or larvae. I was lucky to have an experienced beekeeper with me to help and pointed this out. Getting a new queen on Friday. Hopefully the hive will survive.

That happens sometimes. Did you buy the nuc from someone that was selling a lot of them.

I hope you don't have to pay for the queen.

Another question. Did you leave the frames in the nuc or did you install them to a hive.

I installed the nuc to my hive. They were going to make me pay for shipping of the queen. It's turned into a big mess. I think I'll be returning the whole thing. Bad c/s from the supplier.

That sucks. Its probably to late in the year to find one from someone else. They should have made that right by sending you a new queen immediately free of charge.

That would be the right business move but I had to demand a replacement queen. I then get accused of yelling. Now I just want to wash my hands of the bad experience and give the whole thing back. It would have been different if the supplier was reasonable but she is demeaning and dismissive.

I guess you don't know anyone nearby that raises queens. Or someone that has a Bee hive that can make one for you.

When I picked up my package. Someone had called and said they didn't have a queen in there's and the guy that answered the phone said bring it back and we will give you another. No question asked.
