The back of our yard floods. There is a bird (it is either hurt or a fledgling). It is sitting in the water and can't find its way out. What do I do? If I pull it out of there will its parents still take care of it? I think it is a robin. I'm assuming it probably won't try to hurt me....?

Sorry, Jenny. In future if you find a fledgling in the water move it to the edge on dry land and leave it alone, but watch. Mom or Dad should continue to care for it until it can fly away on it's own. If you don't see the parents come to it then you could either try to raise it yourself or get it to a rehabber. I once raised a baby bluejay that was a nestling and had fallen out of the nest. It was a lot of work, but I'd do it again in a New York second....little Naked was a sweetie Lovey dubby Lovey dubby

@gingin, Thanks! Yeah I was very sad. I just didn't want to do more harm. I have now read some articles and looked for rehabilitation centers so that I am well prepared in the future! Love your picture!
