Looks wonderful, Mike!

Good job Mary. Thumbs up

Yesterday I worked on reclaiming the gravel driveway from the weeds so DH won't spray herbicide on it and destroy plants I planted in the process. Most plants laugh at the herbicide, but the tiniest drift wiped out my gooseberry and blueberry crops the last 2 years. The plants recover, but even if the berries made it - I don't want to eat herbicide.

Let us know how the berry crop does this year. I spray directly on the wild blackberry plants here and they seem very resistant to the spray, so I am surprised to hear that a hearty plant like a blueberry was so sensitive to the drift. What is the name of the product that was used?

I did get outside for about five hours today and got a lot of garden clean up done. The weather was perfect. The crocus and other small bulbs are blooming. The daffodils won't be long, either. Hurray!

Larry, the wild blackberries laughed at the herbicide. It's Ground Clear - supposed to kill everything. The sapling trees laughed at it too.

Yay for Spring! The tulips were blooming and Ian's daffodils looked so lovely.

And then another hailstorm. I can't see the tulips out in the field anymore (and I don't want to see them up close). The leaves on the cannas I brought out over the weekend? I'd describe them as "shredded."

Somehow, the daylilies are not as wrecked as I suspected they would be. Broken leaves, yes, but not as many as I'd feared.

Lots of productive work going on out there! Hurray! Hurray!

Gorgeous day today. Hurray! Got many things done outside. Whistling I just couldn't sit around with all the work weighing on my mind. Whistling Whistling Did well, until the last half hour. I just worked a bit too long. D'Oh! But currently the pain isn't anything like the past two days. Hurray! Hurray! Ibuprophen is helping. (It did nothing the last two days) It still hurts to cough and laugh, but not to sing. Hurray! Baby steps. Hilarious! Hilarious! (yesterday I couldn't sing for the majority of the Easter mass. Glare )

Today, I divided and moved the purple Liatris from the driveway border garden to the North and West sides, and the Northwest corner, of the kennel garden. I needed more fall blooms there than just one Coneflower, and I needed filler foliage between the daylilies, so I think it will do nicely! Smiling I dug up a daylily to divide for trade, and I still need to assess the other DL's for trade, yet. The final thing I did was to plant the new 'Raspberry Sunday' hosta. I'm anxious to see that hosta grow. Smiling

I also did supplemental watering for the sake of all the dividing and transplanting I've done thus far. There's rain in the forecast tomorrow, which is why I took the risk with the sore pec muscle and did all that work today. We need the rain and tomorrow is our best chance for rain in the next 7 days. I don't regret doing the work bc I'm not in major pain. Whistling Hurray! Hurray!

@Shakespeares Diana, your Tulips are lovely. Mine have not bloomed yet but are getting ready to. Sorry to hear about the canna damage from the hail.

@bloominholes2fill Dana, sounds like you do a lot done yesterday despite the pain. I have Liatris that I should also more. I have a lot of it growing in my flag pole bed in front of the house.

I have gotten a lot done in the past couple of days. I finally finished the back fence flower bed and started on the pasture fence bed. There is a lot of empty space in this bed so I want to transplant some Dwarf Iris and Daylilies to this area. I'm going to hold off on mulching until I get some things planted. It rained yesterday afternoon/evening and this morning is cloudy, windy, and cooler. Not sure what I will do today but am hoping to get outside this afternoon.

Another productive day. It was lovely working outside today, mostly cloudy, but peeks of sun. The temperature was lovely, about 60 F, or 15 C. I cleaned four seedling beds, planted some snow peas and got a veggie patch ready.

Sounds like everyone is getting a lot done Smiling

Love the tulips Hurray!

Well, not much doing in the daylily beds today, but I did manage to get the lawn mowed yesterday, two truck loads of leaves and grass clippings hauled in and put in place the day before and I managed to get all the Azaleas trimmed today. I did actually spend some time dead heading the daylilies. The critters were digging last night but were very considerate and did not dig up any plants. That is good because I just finished logging in the replacements from the last critter attack.
