Thanks Connie. I'm interested to see what the next few seasons might bring with this one. By far the best seedling from a cross I made so far!

These two are from the same cross done by Forrest Peiper of NSLS. I have gotten both to bloom here, from the same batch and same pot, just different stems. Quite the diversity. Both from a cross he did of Strawberries on Chocolate x Crimson Noble

Very different flower forms than from either parent, right? Sometimes hard to predict what you are going to get.

You might see a segregation of one group all resembling your first pic in some ways, and the other group resembling your second pic. I think maybe this happens because certain genes are somehow "attached" to each other, and where one goes, another comes with. And sometimes different pods from the exact same cross can render different groupings of progeny, too. Not sure why or how that works, but it does sometimes.

P.S. In case that wasn't just a typo, for your records, it's Peiper. Smiling

A couple of seedlings that I don't think I have posted...

Seedling 13-17b-2: GH-A-11 x Firestar (GH-A-11 is the one I call Moby's Swan Dive, named by Moby)
