Really nice Rick! You are becoming quite the martagon hybridizer.
Here's a question, does anyone know if the pollenless trait continues in breeding where you use a pollenless lily as the pod parent (obviously)?
I have seen a reference or two stating that they will continue to be pollenless in further generations. Anyone know if that's true?
The reason I ask is that I know Tibetan snow is pollenless and it appears Tracey's seedling is too.
You are right about that, mags, and it doesn't even have to be my own cross. I'm looking forward to more of Della's seedlings blooming. It won't be long!
'Little White Kiss' x 'NapaValley'
I hope it grows taller in subsequent years because I think this one's really nice, but not so much if it stays a foot tall .
Nice seedling. It reminds of Canadian intros. Not much work done like that elsewhere that I know of.
Many of the Canadian cultivars have simply not done well for me. Maybe they dislike those 100 plus deg. days like we had yesterday. And then all the winter and spring rain that they may not be accustomed to.
Graphite or paint pen need to be used and labeled buried near the bulb. If it is really important it is worth making two buried labels. A lot of work, I know!
A real survivor story! I got this seed from Anthony @gwhizz in the winter of 2014. It was the first seed I was ever traded or donated and from down under nonetheless. Anyway I had a 4" pots of a few of his crosses and they got wet in the winter. Some rotted. This one had been toiling away neglected in a 4" pot until this spring where I moved her to a gallon pot as a reward for being one of the few survivors! This is Luina x ? (Labeled as I received it) lol
