Hi everyone.

I have a question about cabbage. I have never really grown it before. I am growing some now, but I was just wondering a lot of things.

Will all the leaves form the cabbage or just some of them?

How can you tell if it is ripe and ready to harvest?

I attached a picture of my biggest one. Yes, that is my foot next to it. I have four cabbage this size.



Any help will be appreciated

The part you eat will be in the center with LOTS of leaves on the outside. Your cabbage is just an infant.

I dont know your climate. Cabbage is a cool season crop. If weather gets warm, it will start to bolt. You can tell, because the head will start to enlongate, kind of like a hill. If it does, pick it. You can use all the outter leaves, for stir-fry, stew, etc. Cooked, that is.
