You should be able to buy Allium (ornamental onion) bulbs when the fall planted bulbs arrive in the garden centres. People on the bulbs forum can probably give you some good sources.
They really are wonderful plants. I was at the RHS garden in Yorkshire the other day and the highlight of the main borders in early summer is masses of these wonderful bulbs. The emerging perennials hide the dying foliage of the Alliums.
