I'm in love with this bush in my neighborhood and want to plant it in my front yard but I can figure out what it is. I think it's a type of loropetalum but I can't seem to figure out the exact variety and haven't found anything like it at our local nurseries. Would really love your help!

I believe it is Loropetalum. Our nurseries here carry it. What part of Texas are you in?

Thank you! Do you know which variety though? I don't think it's Zhuzhou or Purple Diamond. The leaves underneath are a very pretty lighter green, not as olive as some varieties, and the top leaves are more pinkish.

They are very hard to pin down to a particular cultivar as there are so many varieties and different cultural and lighting conditions can affect the colors. I bought a couple that were reddish at the nursery, they were planted two years ago and have not displayed any red since.
