It seems to have bell-shaped green flowers on separate stalks so I don't think so although the overall look with the long petioles is similar to three-seeded mercury (which is a prolific weed around here).



It would certainly help to know where the plant is located, I didn't see anything with similar green flowers in either of my North American field guides but it may just not have been included.

Nor did I until I expanded the picture on my iPad to see if I could see some more detail of the plant. Bottom right, Porkpal. They look green.

I just googled 'plant roots cats love' and found what I think could be a match: Acalypha indica.

Good thinking Janine! Hurray! That explains why the leaves looked like three-seeded mercury.
