I love the color of this, but it just doesn't have a very high bud count for me and the blooms do not open fully-maybe because of our cold mornings.
I would love suggestions for another daylily that has this great orange/rust velvety color, but opens better with a higher bud count.

Is that South Seas? If not that is one I love the color of and it's close. Cause for Pause and Ten Cent Wings are a couple other you might look at.

it does remind me a little of House of Orange, but it too did not bloom very much for me, low bud count. The color was gorgeous though. I also have Smokey Mountain Autumn, and I love that. I did grow Hot Toddy once and I liked that, maybe I will buy that again sometime. Another I thought was beautiful was Indian Pumpkin, but it just melted in the sun, did not hold up.

I was just going to suggest coral Majority too. Last year was its first in my garden, started out with 2 fans, 4 this year, nice number of blooms & it rebloomed last year. Also tall, sturdy scapes.
