It looks like a Hypericum. Not sure if it's this one but it has a dark stem like the ID plant.

Huh...that's interesting.....hypericum is invasive around here, I've had them pop up in my yard and yanked them, did not know that one would get as large as the one at the garden.....I willl chcek on that right now....thank you. This area is new to me in the last 3 years and I'm still finding surprises...lol..

Yes, well apparently the invasive one is the one that pops up in my yard...LOL...going to check on the 'Hidcote'...it is awfully pretty.....
