We live in Eastern Tennessee and we have several of these volunteers growing in the garden bed. I was getting ready to yank them out when my bride told me I would do no such thing. She likes the little flower. Looks like a "weed" to me but as she said "beauty is in the eye of the beholder". I would like to know what it is if anyone knows.

They may be Tomatillos.

Might be a weed. Have no idea. Just wanted to say that I agree with @TennesseeDave's wife in thinking it's a pretty little flower.

Not tomatillos. They have yellow flowers.
And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk it took to blossom. -Anaïs Nin
