Termites.
Termites are sometimes found in potting soil and mulch. Or, if the potted plant is in contact with the ground, the termites may have migrated up into the pot because the potting mixture provides what they need: a wood product and moisture.

They do look like termites. Confused

Will Neem kill termites? If not is there a natural remedy to kill these guys? Neem n cayenne pepper maybe? Dawn?
How about repellents? Something termites dislike alot?
Such as stink bugs dont like the smell of lavender. ...
Also the termites were in side the stem of the plant will it kill the Patunias also? Will it kill all plants?
There are many many more potted plants around this infested pot... the Geraniums had termites inside the stems and the stems were turning brown... will all the plants be affected like this including the ones in the yard. This is a new home for my daughter.. Im concerned for her other plants and future issues.. That plant looked very very infested! What should she be doing for future problems?
The pics are blurry, sorry its the best I have for now.

How about a picture, Pamela? I kind of doubt it's termites infesting her plants. They feed/nest almost exclusively in wood.

There's a good spray insecticide available at all the garden centers, and it's rated for use on edibles and organic gardens. It's called Cap't Jack's Dead Bug Brew. That would be my first try, but if you can let us see the bugs, or even the damage that will help us a lot to help you get rid of them.

You should always positively identify a pest *before* trying to treat a plant for it.

There's a picture in another thread, Elaine. It's not very clear though but the overall look is kinda like termites. Pamela is there any way you can get a clearer picture of the "bugs"? I think if they were termites I might be a bit more worried about the house than the plants....

First, move those pots well away from her house! No harm in trying a douse with Neem if you already have some (it's expensive!) but I'd be inclined to try a douse with insecticidal soap/water instead.

I once planted two pink dogwood trees. One of them became infested with subterranean termites. Termites eat wood. It's what they do. They do not care at all if we value the plant - all they see is food.

You can make a tub of water mixed with insecticidal soap and dunk the pot in the water mixture for a while. It should kill the termites and the plant will recover, but yes, please move it away from the house. Thumbs up

Too avoid confusion the two threads really should be together since it's an ongoing discussion about the same subject.
