Plant ID forum: All over my friend's supposed to be sunflower patch, help?

These popped up all over my friend's sunflower patch (N Illinois) as well as here and there in my own yard (S WI). Seem pretty common. Anyone know what they are?

Possibly very healthy horseweed.
