|I have a 16' row of hydrangeas. I used to follow the pruning rules. Last year, I was just too busy. This year, I have the most flowers on them I've even seen.

|Wonderful - a feast for the eyes. The only time I prune them is to remove dead branches or those injured by winter.|

|Nice there yardman.
Hears a couple things about hydrangeas, that a didn't know, untill this year.
#1, is, that there are two types ! One that blooms on this years growth, and another that blooms on last years growth.
So ! I'm guessing you have the latter. Since it sounds like, you didn't get them pruned at all !
If there the latter kind, i belive you would want to prune after blossom ends, so you have growth this year, to bloom for next year.
2nd. Thing i heard, was that fertilizing with Empson Salt, in winter will make them change color.
Empson Salt is good for them also.
Anything i say, could be misrepresented, or wrong.
