"Good ole days, boys, gal" etc. is a figure of speech used in many places. Very common in the middle and Southern parts of the country.

Holy cow Frank. My first peony from an outside vendor was 2007. Julia Rose for $100. Cora Louise 2008 $99. How times have changed indeed

I talked to Henry Chotkowski during last year's APS convention, he and his wife planned to make a side trip to Gilbert Wild's to walk the fields to decide what to order on their way back to Arkansas. I'd LOVE to have Salmon Glow, tried to order it from Parkland but he cancelled my order due to health issues that year and there was no catalog the following year....sure wish the new owner would put out a catalog.

In 2006, the newer peonies listed for $20-25

Wild just published their fall catalog, their newer peonies are listed at $20-25!

The older varieties are about the same price as they were in 2006.

In 2006, Felix Supreme listed for $12, the 2017 catalog has it listed at $11

I ordered (just the other day) six that were all about $25 or less. So I wonder why we see so many that run $40+. Maybe I am looking at the Itoh's not herbaceous. They continue to be spendy but not like five years ago. What I paid $99 for then (Julia Rose, Cora Louise) you can get for $65 now and occasionally less. Solaris has some Itoh's in the $40's. I don't know how they can hold the prices since everything else is going up including the cost of doing business (machinery, labor,)

It's strange how the prices vary so much from grower to grower.
