I would like to plant these in front of the house for some privacy. I need a 5-6 foot height. They will be protected during the winter ( for the most part) I've heard that they can "drop" their leaves or even die off in zone 5. Yes/No!! If you would have another suggestion, please advise. I "need" plants that already at least 4-5' Appreciate your help.

Not sure about the leaf drop question. They will definitely be 5 feet tall. They grow like monsters and will need pruning every year if not more X per year.

Those would grow a lot taller than 5 feet unless you pruned back heavily each year.
