OK, probably not, just seems that way.

I purchased many daylilies before I retired because they were so hard to kill.

Just plant them anywhere and they, you know...live

Now I am retired, and have a lot of yellow daylilies:)

think, too much green, now too much yellow!

are there any good daylilies that repeat bloom? That are not yellow?

Is it just me, or do others get tired of looking at stella d'ore?

I like this older one, MABEL Y. SHEPHERD;

I'm a little colder and a lot dryer than you but grow some real eye poppers (about 150)

I'm sure that you can find some that fit your taste.

Frank, don't know about repeat bloomers for your zone, but you should look at the daylilies of Carol Emmerich of Minnesota. I believe she has repeat bloomers for northern areas. Down here in Zone 8a we have two Michigan bred daylilies we love:

Thumb of 2017-06-19/Avedon/008ba6
Jan Zoo--rosy red with a gold throat

Thumb of 2017-06-19/Avedon/7217ee
Sunny Intervals--orange bitone with an orange eyezone, green throat. This has been an excellent daylily for us and was very good with repeat bloom last year.

If you like purple, this one might do for you from hybridizer Margo Reed of Virginia.

Thundercat from Jamie Gossard of Ohio.

Obviously, there are many, many different colors and shapes of daylilies available for your zone. Hope you find what you want and post so we can see your choices.

'Stella...' ain't exactly yellow, and yellow daylilies bring a cheerful beauty to the landscape, especially mid-late and later in the daylily season.

By all means explore other colors (and even punt 'Stella...' if you are tired of her), but please don't banish yellow daylilies entirely from your garden. At least try some of the yellow UFs... they might change your mind about yellow daylilies.

I also love the yellows. So happy, and they dont fade. Make other flowers around them pop. Not as easy as you would think to get a good yellow.

Frank, as everyone else has said, there are OODLES of colors, shapes, sizes, etc. of daylilies.

To say that they are all yellow tells me that you didn't stop to look at any threads before you posted. Sticking tongue out

You aren't too far from Carleton and one of my favorite people to purchase daylilies lives in Carleton. Check out Miss Becky's Daylilies: http://www.missbecky.net/ Walk through her gardens and you'll never make the mistake of saying all daylilies are yellow (or boring) ever again. ;)

I could also introduce you to the Lily Auction online (www.daylily.com) ...but don't say I didn't warn you about that place...it's easy to spend your life's savings in there! (...not to mention that if you're just starting out, it is often more economical to purchase a bunch of daylilies from a daylily grower elsewhere, all in one order, rather than purchase at the Lily Auction)

Best of luck in your daylily purchases. Keep us updated on what you add as you discover the wide, wide world of daylilies! :-D
