I am searching for Melva Jean Farmer. This was named after my grandmother, and due to a series of events, she has lost all of hers. I would love to find it. My mom posted here a few years ago, and never followed up to post in this group as recommended. Any information greatly appreciated!

Hi dudleymomx2, Welcome!

According to our database, no members currently own Daylily (Hemerocallis 'Melva Jean Farmer') but hopefully someone will be able to offer advice on where to find it! The description sure sounds like it's a pretty one but I couldn't even find photos when googling, not even a photo at the AHS website:

you may try contacting the family of the hybridizer to see if anyone of them grow it.

We have tried contacting the family many times, but they don't seem to follow through. My grandmother doesn't even have a picture of it anymore. I found someone locally who says they have something matching the description and I'm waiting for a photo. Fingers crossed anyways. I figured it was a long shot, but wanted to try for her. The Branhams were good friends of hers. I remember to their house as a kid and riding through the fields of lillies. My grandmother was a master gardener and at one point had her own nursery. Just thought it would be something special for her. Thank you for the responses :)

These probably aren't them. They were on this property before me. I have no clue about daylilies but your story got me so I figured I would post pics just in case :)
