A neighbor got a tomato plant as a gift. It had no id tag and the giver does not remember. It is about 1.5 ft tall, healthy and bearing fruit. Any thoughts as to what the name of this plant is? See the enclosed pictures:

Click on the picture and hopefully you will see a more detailed photo.

Any thoughts are appreciated. Considering its size, shape and cluster of tomatoes, I am assuming it is a mini-determinate cherry tomato plant.

Hi ECHOooooo, Welcome!

I have no idea how to identify a particular Tomato plant but hopefully someone more knowledgeable will be along soon and be able to offer suggestions. We have many different varieties listed in our The Tomatoes Database

Can you put something in the photo to give us a size reference??? We have no way of knowing the size of the plant, the leaves, etc. without some type of reference. Thank you.

I checked the DB and if it's a cherry determinate, there are 69 listed. The experts will need more info. Size of plant, color of fruit, etc...

Stopped at Home Depot today and while there checked out their tomato plants. Husky red cherry appears to be close to the plant in question. Thoughts?

Without a proper label, it can be whatever you decide to call it. As long as it produces edible tomatoes, it's a good plant.
