Dear all
I'm a bit stumped! This shrub flowered beautifully but before the leaves came out and now the leaves are minuscule. It was fed with blood and bone in spring as directed. It's container grown and was put in a much bigger pot last year. Well drained soil. Mulched. Could it be vine weevil? I saw a grown up beetle fall off the branches while I was inspecting it. Dig around the roots but couldn't see the grubs.
Any advice? I never want to admit defeat!

Welcome! Syb. Are you in the UK by chance?

Other than blood and bone meal, have you fertilized it with anything else? Also what is the make-up of the potting mix, it looks as if it has wood in it.

Hi Sooby, thank you for taking the time to reply.
That's the recent mulch on the top with the bark. Only did it last week after I noticed said tiny leaf syndrome. Yes, I'm in the Uk. It's just general compost with some grit. No, it's had no other fertiliser. My Canadian lilac and bay bush are thriving next to it with the same compost and feeding. Crossing Fingers! Just a bit stumped. What do you think? The bark it starting to split on some of the branches as well. Can't see any aphids. Crossing Fingers! Thank You!
