I planted some German Chamomile seeds in mid-may. I read about what they needed to grow and thrive, what it should look like, etc. It has lace-like green foliage and it's between 1-3 feet tall. It just started to bloom so far 2 flowers have bloomed on it and they are both PURPLE. I don't understand it. Is it not German Chamomile? Everything else looks identical to german chamomile(at least the pics I've found on the internet) EXCEPT THE FLOWERS. WHAT is going on?

Hi myautumnskyee, Welcome!

German Chamomile (Matricaria chamomilla) has white flowers so I have a feeling your plant was mislabeled.

If you can upload photos of the leaves and blooms of your plant someone may be able to give you a more exact ID.

I found a plant in our database called False Chamomile (Boltonia asteroides var. latisquama Jim Crockett) that has lavender blooms.

I have a feeling you plants are something else in the Asteraceae family

I uploaded a photo not very good quality and I apologize. I also got the seeds from Amazon.

I think your right about that. Thank you so much. I am so angry now though! Last time I ever order seeds from amazon!
