Hello,

I am looking for help in identifying this Succulent. I am also wondering what to do with it. It has turned brown and there are new plants growing from the brown sections.

Thank you for any help you can give!

Welcome!

Its a Sempervivum. Did the brown part of the plant recently bloom? The year old rosettes grow 'puppies', bloom and die. That's what yours has done.

Hi Daisyl,

Thank you for the identification and the information. When you say "bloom" do you mean flowers? I do not remember seeing any flowers. Should I just leave the plant as it is? Or do I remove the new blooms and repot them?

Thank you!

You would not have missed blooms as the rosette elongates to form a bloom stock. You can remove the plantlets and start new plants. If you put the little rosettes on top of the soil, they will root. You can probably grow them outside in your garden. Most take temperatures down to -30.
