@Patty - what a BEAUTIFUL plant and picture! I could hardly believe this was a clematis, I've never seen anything like it! I went to look at the other pictures listed for Clematis "Asao" and all of the others look like a Pink and white flower (including one of your own). Is this picture what it looks likes once it is producing seed? If so, how long does it usually look like this? I'm not a fan of pink, per se, but I am a HUGE fan of feathery-looking things and the picture you posted is definitely something I would love to have in my garden, so long as it looks that way atleast a couple of weeks of the year.

Thank you for any info you can provide. And, again, what a pretty picture! Thank you for sharing!

If you click the image, the gallery selected is seeds, most of clematis produce these beautiful designs so you don't have to limit yourself with this particular one!

I didn't think we were able to limit our search to galleries yet (?) I do know this has been discussed off and on for quite some time and am hopeful that some sort of sorting or tabbing will eventually come into play. Is there a way to do this currently? I'd love to NOT be distracted by all the (beautiful) bloom photos when researching a particular plant, it is more important to me to see the form of the entire plant, how it looks when emerging, what it does in the fall, etc. I opened this clematis entry and didn't see a way to limit my view to just seeds - am I missing something?
I want to live in a world where the chicken can cross the road without its motives being questioned.

No, that has not a feature, yet. Not sure if it's on Dave's to-do list.

Thumbs up
DnD, you really do!
I should really go get a better picture, but check out this one

purple--blooms plus silvery, feathery seed heads--this one pretty much goes like this all summer, date on that pic is 8-24.
It's not a climber, more like an 18" sprawling clump that wanders a bit thru low stuff

But, there are so many kinds, really check 'em out--I'm sure you could find some to be a fan of Smiling

The only thing holding me back is nowhere to put them and a potential move soon (I hope).... I have seeds from two different varieties that I'm eager to try and see what colors of seedlings I get. After seeing your pictures and the pictures of the seedheads, I am very anxious to start growing them!
