Hi there,

I run past this tree and it has a great smell. It reminds me of Scotland - although I'm in Seattle now.

It's quite a large tree and the smell from it is stronger in warm weather. Very hard to describe the smell. Somewhere between green tea and chicken soup? Kind of musky. haha IDK

No flowers on it as far as i've noticed. Please check out the attached image of the leaf and let me know!

Cheers!

Can you run slowly past the tree and snap a few pictures so we can see the entire tree? Thank You!

Were you running past a deli? Smiling

If you can take a picture of a twig showing several leaves it would help. Wild guess based on fragrant leaves, balsam poplar?

Balsam poplar leaves seem to be a good match.

OK, I'll try to run slowly and take a picture!

I tried an online search and Poplar came up but i thought that those were tall and skinny trees - used for logging, right? This one seemed big, but not straight like a forestry/logging pine might be. Anyway - I'll get another photo.

Thanks for the replies so far!
