I started a garden a few months ago, and in spite of heavy bug population this year it is doing ok with a few different organic pesticides. Recently I noticed several of my plants have a oily looking residue on them that is causing some leaves and branches to die. It starts as just an oily appearance, but then the leaves turn black and look very greasy. Some of the plants have a darker looking stem that is also slimy. I'm only trying to identify and treat the problem before it infects my other plants. Thanks!

Welcome!

We would love to try to help you. Can you post some photos of the affected plants? And a close-up of the oily stuff?

Thank you.
