Can we root Geranium pieces that break off a main plant? Do I need rooting hormone to do it? I've never used rooting hormone before either. I live in zone 5 in South area of Denver.

Most geraniums root easily. I've done it in water, and by just sticking them into a pot of soil. I don't use rooting hormone, and they all root readily. I used to have large pots of them outside. I'd take cuttings to root and grow during the winter, and let the main plant die off since it was too large to take inside.
