Welcome!

Its not a milkweed - its a thistle. No need to clone as you will have a lot of seeds in about a month.

Hopefully, someone from Georgia will be along in a minute to help you with an identification.

@greene, you around?

This is a blurry picture of part of a plant. Would it be possible to get some more photos of the entire plant? hopefully in focus? (I'm not getting any younger *Blush* and need the photos to be clear.)

Edited to add:
Georgia has varied climates. What part of Georgia?

Edited to add:
It could be a Cirsium vulgare aka Bull Thistle, but without more photographs, I just don't know.

Don't worry about cloning it. That sucker will spread seeds like crazy and you will soon have a whole yard full.

Since this is not a milkweed, perhaps you might use 'Suggest a Change' and change the title to 'What kind of Thistle is this?'
