I'm trying to find a flowering flowering vine that will climb on the brick wall (with the white pipe next to the swing - see photo). There is full sun most of the day,
I could either keep the plant in container or plant it in the ground one level below & eventually it would climb to 2nd (balcony) level. In the latter case, something fast growing would be best. Also, it would be nice if the flowers bloomed all or most of summer into Fall....and if fragrant, would be frosting on the cake. I've thought about Morning Glory & Mandevilla (altho think mandevilla needs shade) & of course, low maintenance would be great. Thanks for any suggestions!

Mandevilla grows on the freeway walls, in full sun here! It does need support though. I don't know if it would take your winter temps.

Thanks so much for your input. Our winter temps in SC are very mild compared to where I lived most of my life in MA, but I will check it out. Also, I do plan on supporting it with a trellis on the brick wall. Lucky you in CA! Was in Santa Clara years Thank You! ago and loved it. Happy 4th and https://garden.org/i/s/thankyo...

Passion flowers. They vine 15 ft, take full sun, and are fragrant. They also come back every year. To keep control of the vine you are better off sinking it in a pot in the ground. Otherwise, volunteers at the least, 15 ft away.
