I just planted a 3 gallon size oakleaf hydrangea - alice- last month and its leaves are already turning red. Is this normal?

I would say so. My ruby slippers has been changing since last month. The only white I have is on new blooms but even those came with the red splotches. It's time. We are halfway to fall now.😁
