Not being an iris guy, (too much shade) my neighbor has this spectacular iris...any ideas? It looks like a louisiana iris, which I'm pretty sure would not be in Z4b Thx

It sure looks like a Louisiana Iris and a lovely one too. The American Iris Society states that Louisianas can grow even into Canada.

Beautiful iris but I bet it is a Japanese and not a LA. Something along the lines of this one, but there are many JI's without pictures in our database.

Do the leaves have a single ridge down the middle? JI's have that ridge, LA's don't.

Japanese iris do well in colder climates, and where well watered so your zone would be great for them.
