My Sensation Lilac was dong very well (it's still in a pot) and we placed it in an area where we wanted to transplant it but after about 6 weeks in the new location, some of the leaves are starting to turn color and look like the edges are dying off.

I can see that it is being eaten by something but I wasn't sure if the two are related. If anyone has any advice, I'd appreciate it! (Nothing has been applied to the leaves or soil since it was moved.)

The two are not related.
Mine gets chewed by something. But, never to much.
If its badly chewed, spray with insectacidal soap. Also use some snail pellets.

Leafs look like there sunburned. Some late afternoon shade would be in order.
Think about moving it when it goes dormant.

It's probably not related. If only the occasional leaf is chewed I wouldn't be too concerned, it could just be leaf-cutter bees. The yellow brown leaf edges might be the plant telling you it would rather be in the ground than in the pot.

Opps ! Hadn't had my second cup of coffee, this morning D'Oh! !

Still in pot !
Some shade and maybe more water, till you plant it .
I'd still plant it where it would get some afternoon shade.
