|I live in southern NJ and have a 13 yr. old tree as referenced above. This year for the first time, it is dropping blackish/purple things (like peppercorns) on my concrete driveway and even heavy rain won't remove them, but makes the "peppercorns" run a red color staining the concrete. Do you know what this is? It has never happened before. I looked at the leaves and they have small holes in most, but that is not unusual. The tree also is constantly dropping leaves (which has been the case for a number of years). I had a professional tree service spray for insects a few times, but I really don't remember if it helped the leaf drop or not.
Do you know what these "peppercorn-like" things are. I see nothing on the tree, limbs, or leaves like this. I'm puzzled. Can you help?

Can you post some photos?
