Hi,
Can anyone help me? My new Monge lilac bush that was healthy and thriving suddenly has droopy, sort of curling leaves and chunks missing fom the leaves. I cant tell if this is a disease or insect damage. I can't see any visible bugs on the leaves. There is another lilac about 4 ft away from this one that is fine so far. I have done internet search and read about common pests and diseases but cant find anything that seems to fit these symptoms. I have grown many lilacs and am familiar with powdery mildew and occasional leaf infestations , but this is the first time I've had this issue. While only a few of the leaves have the large holes and portions missing, all the leaves are droopy and curling downward. The whole bush suddenly has an unwell look to it. ( edited to add that my husband now says he saw a couple tiny black bugs on the bush , smaller than a lady bug and shiny)

Here are two pictures:

I would appreciate any ideas or help on this!!
Thanks, Kathy
