I agree All spectacular! Thumbs up Thumbs up Thumbs up
It happens in a flash, but the memory of it last forever. It can not be borrowed or stolen, and it is of no earthly good until it is given away. So if in your hurry you meet someone who is too weary to smile, leave him one of yours, for no one needs a smile quite as much as he who has none to give...

Thank You!

' Traditional ' red shibori is sad ... small! I even think she is faked! Blinking

Thumb of 2017-07-13/dany12/899a18

With shibori red, I fing a new mutation ... a pink shade .

Thumb of 2017-07-13/dany12/ad365a

First, I thought it was due to the temperature - cool night or late watering that cooled the plant (stress).
Example: cool temperature effect!
Thumb of 2017-07-13/dany12/c95f26

But not ... at normal temperatures this pink shadow is still there!

Try to copy these lineaments and create a cross-shaped purpurea with these colors.
1 - We use a white flower ... the principle of the white sheet ... you put on the color you want!
Thumb of 2017-07-18/dany12/faf1a7

2 - Or we stay in the shibori familly and try to change the color!
Thumb of 2017-07-18/dany12/56355c
I think the second solution is the right ... an intuition! Confused
Shibori have a very different genetics ... are they not inter-specific?

I read on Dr. Yoneda's website that flaked phenotype came from a cross of an African strain of Ipomoea nil with Ipomoea purpurea.

They talk about transposons ... it would be an allele ... so a mutation!

Yes! Thanks for the link! The Kyushu University website and other linked websites are focused on genetics of Ipomoea nil so there is not much discussion of our treasured Ipomoea purpurea.

Last year I had a volunteer that I thought was a specific hybrid!
Why ... because flowers were very large !

Thumb of 2017-07-18/dany12/12e641 Thumb of 2017-07-18/dany12/bd6740

I harvested 'seeds' ... they were not very beautiful!
This year I sow and nothing grows! Angry
.... Yet she was born this plant!

Jewel of the day !
A 7 petals pink shibori next to a 6 petals flower !

Thumb of 2017-07-20/dany12/a96240 Thumb of 2017-07-20/dany12/0630dc

Problem ... no really pollen ! Thumbs down

Thumb of 2017-07-20/dany12/22cec7

It's not the pollen that's lacking!

Thumb of 2017-07-20/dany12/ef152f

Result: it 's a cross ... I add 50% of a 'normal' genetic inheritance!I'm not advancing ... I back off! Shrug!
