Ive been growing this avacado from a pit for several months now and it is just a long stem. It will not grow leaves. It grows these pink leaf like buds but then they turn brown and fall off

It needs direct sunlite ! Outsided !

Slowly !
An early morning !
Hour, or so, a day.

Slowly, increase, to more.

If, its not to late. 😬😭

It really should have put out leaves by now. Did you plant the pit with the pointed end up?

It will have used up all the stored food from the pit by now and if it doesn't get leaves pretty soon, it will surely die.

I'd do as Philip suggested and put it outside where it will get some morning sun and also where it will be a lot warmer than it is in your home. It's do or die on this plant pretty soon, so . . well . . let's do!
