The tag says it will get 6-8 ft tall, 4-6 feet wide ~ will it damage it I keep it groomed to 3-4 ft wide ? Would it still flower ? I have space for a tall narrow shrub. Thanks

If you prune back the stems immediately after they have finished flowering you should be able to keep your Weigela down to a reasonable size, but it may send out new growth which could be fairly long.
As this plant flowers on wood made the previous season don't be tempted to cut it back before it has flowered or you will lose the flowers for that year.
There are compact varieties available, it sounds as though you have one of the larger ones.

Hope this helps Crossing Fingers!
