I lived near Jackson, CA for several years and planted a Magnolia Tree. All I remember is that it was supposed to get to be about 20 feet tall and 10-20 feet wide. It had beautiful fragrant white flowers and the leaves were green on one side and brown on the other. I have since moved and we would like to plant the same kind of Magnolia Tree, but do not know the variety. Can you identify the variety by looking at this photo? The photo was taken in 2012 so I think it was about full grown. Thank you.

Maybe something like Magnolia grandiflora 'Little Gem'?

There are other dwarf ones, but given the shape, I'd agree with Daisy on 'Little Gem'.. It tends to be more upright.
