Thank you. It's beautiful. Looking at all these pictures makes me wish I had the energy to dig up the rest of my lawn. I do have a new bed formed when a set of steps down a hillside had to be refurbished. Coneflowers will certainly have a reigning place there.

I purchased three beautiful plants of Sombrero Orange today. I am adding a bunch of cone flowers to the main garden this year. There is such a wonderful array of colors with the modern cone flowers. I do check the hardiness zones on them before I purchase. The ones I have recently purchased claim to be hardy to -30-40.

@NJBob - do you have any wildlife issues with your coneflowers? I had some munched and I don't think the deer generally eat them but there are some rabbits and armadillos that I'm suspicious of... :)

Rabbits and Groundhogs go for them the first month of growing and then seem to leave them alone for the most part. Once in awhile I will see a rabbit jumping up or a ground hag trying to pull down a flower. The Deer seem to leave them alone. So early in the season I use some Liquid Fence and a few moth balls and that seems to work.

I got alot of purple seedlings from my purple coneflowers. Even my Cheyenne Spirit seedling bloom purple. Though this year, two seedlings came up that are not purple. These colored ones probably got their color gene from Now Cheesier and White Powwow which I had a few years back. But they all dwindled and died.

Here is a yellow one:

Stupid rabbits are eating most of mine Grumbling They must not like the hot pink ones, since they're leaving them alone!

My established cones are spotty as to when they emerged and many are not at bloom stage yet.
Big Kahuna was a local purchase. Gallon size pot so the plant looks 3 years old already. I also bought Kizmet Intense Orange in a gallon pot.
