Hello everyone. I live in mid-Wales in the UK and there's a perennial in my garden that flowers each July. I think it's a bulb/tuber but only because of the thin strappy leaves. The flower stems reach around 30cm tall with quite small flowers. Can anyone help identify it? (See photographs, and please ignore the campanula!) Many thanks

Not sure it's an orchid (primarily because it has six petals arranged evenly around the centre - orchids usually have five and a distinct lip), but I agree with the assessment that it's very likely a bulb. Could be something in the Amaryllidaceae family (reminds me of the Narcissus genus, but don't think it's a member).

I don't know if Society Garlic (Tulbaghia 'Hazel') is your plant but it was bred in Wales.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to look! How interesting that this particular one was bred here in Wales. Although the common name of Society Garlic doesn't seem to match the beauty of the flowers!
