While touring this native garden, I snapped a couple pics to upload to the database. This one appears to be mislabeled. Any idea what it might really be?

It does appear to be something in the Ranuncula family. Nice snake in there too.

Carol, nice eye spotting the snake - I never even saw that guy. I think mallow of some sort is likely correct, but doubt it is any named cultivar as this garden is supposedly all natives. I'll do some research to see what pink mallow might be native in the Pacific NW and see if I can find a match.

I don't use a cell phone. Does that little square box thing work from a photograph? If so, perhaps there might be useful information to be gleaned from that?

If not, my husband does have a cell phone but neither he nor I have any clue how to 'read' that box thing. This botanical garden is about a mile from me and I could go try to get more info if someone would walk me through whatever process one uses. He has a Samsung.

I've searched through several native plant web sites and am unable to find any mallow that is native to my area. Several did mention that Lavatera trimestris will naturalize happily here, so perhaps that is what this is. Which would be a bit odd, as it is my understanding that the owner of this botanical garden is pretty focused on planting with actual natives and has gone to great lengths to locate ones that have become endangered in my area. ?? I sure don't think it is the labeled Caltha leptosepala which is clearly a white marsh marigold, and most other marsh marigolds are yellow. May just be a mystery.

Yes, I saw that, and it's a good guess (along with others). I have no idea what it might be because it's not in my own yard, so hard to compare the height, leave placement, etc. I was relying on the label, which I believe is incorrect. I'll likely just not upload the photo into the database since it is fuzzy what the actual ID is. If it was in my yard, I'd be more vested to correctly ID it so I could add it to my personal inventory list, but since it is not, I'll just mark this as finished. And perhaps bring it to the attention of the botanical garden that they have a mis-marked plant.

I can't say I have ever seen Caltha leptosepala. It doesn't grow here. But these certainly look like they would be a Caltha species. I don't think anything is mislabeled. Just others that are not labeled.

Sidalcea malviflora looks like a match to the plant in question.

Thank you @Leftwood for pointing out the foliage that would pertain to the Caltha leptosepala plants. I agree that those rounded, slightly leathery looking leaves could be those of the named variety. It looks like the Sidalcea has just seeded itself in.
