I've used the #'s so that people can view pictures that aren't in the galleries. For instance, there's no "succulent flower" gallery, so for all of my pictures of succulent/cacti blooms, I put in #succulentflower.

Do you put that in the search window? I tried it #succulentflowers and it sent me back to this thread in the site talk forum.

Except no one ever used that hashtag "succulentflowers", so you won't find anything, you will find Kim's "succulentflower" without the S.

Uhoh @Australis and @Trish, I should have read this thread before adding a hashtag. Didn't realize it needs to be approved.

So I uploaded an image with a hashtag #adeniumseedling

Can you please approve this hashtag? In the adenium world, this hashtag is the most commonly used for searches because only adenium
Seedlings will develop caudex. Adeniums grown from cuttings will
Not develop caudex.

I'm afraid I don't control what is an official one and what isn't, but technically any hashtag can be used and the search function will still work. The key difference is that the official ones may be used by the system (e.g. during Pollinator Week) to highlight certain groups of images or for other functionality in future.

And anything you add to the caption, location or date can be edited: just enlarge photo, scroll down and click the 'edit this images caption, details…" and submit when done.

I'm afraid not. The scope of this project makes it daunting enough that other projects take precedence.
