The hybridizer spelled it incorrectly when he registered it. The registrar at that time did not catch this error and it was printed in the hard copy of registrations for that year. Thus, we are stuck with it. There is no recourse. That's not the only one! I recall one particular registration when I was AHS President when the hybridizer insisted on spelling a word incorrectly. The registrar tried his best to talk him out of it, but the hybridizer insisted. Won't mention the name as many would recognize it.
